General FAQ

To choose your size, measure the diametre of your nipple (not including the areola). Usually a comfortable fit will be your nipple measurement + 2-4mm. For example, if your nipple measurement is 12mm, we would recommend a 15mm insert.

We have 2 flange sizes - 24mm and 27mm. And flange inserts sold seperately in sizes 15mm, 17mm, 19mm and 21mm. If you require a flange insert, we would recommend using the 24mm flange as we find the inserts fit better in the 24mm flange than the 27mm.

Measuring nipples is really, really challenging! Please reach out if you need help with sizing.

If you scroll down on this page https://www.mumilk.com.au/collections/wearable-breast-pumps you will find a comparison table for our 3 pump models.

If you encounter any issues with your Mumilk pump, please complete our troubleshooting form and provide all the necessary details for us to assist you. Sometimes, we may request additional information such as a video to assess the problem remotely. In the event that a replacement motor is required, we usually send out one without requiring a return of the faulty motor, under the condition that you retain the original for the remainder of your warranty period.

In special cases where a warranty claim is raised a second time, we may ask you to return BOTH the original and the replacement motors for a physical assessment. Kindly note that failure to comply could result in the inability to process your warranty claim. This process is initiated in good faith and is based on the details you provide. A new motor will typically be dispatched to you, and tracking information may be provided for your convenience.

If the unit has suffered accidental damage not covered by warranty, we may offer a discount for the purchase of a replacement motor. However, please keep in mind that certain warranty conditions must be met, such as being the original purchaser or having the item bought from our website.

Our warranty covers a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. During this time, if you experience issues with your pump that are covered by the warranty, we may offer options such as repair, replacement, or troubleshooting assistance. Please be aware that the warranty is limited to this duration, and any orders outside of this period may not be eligible for warranty service. We have also added to option of purchasing an extended warranty (2 years). Please contact us if you have any other questions!

Our warranty is not transferable. Pumps not purchased directly from us or from an authorized retailer will not be covered by our warranty.

We understand the importance of satisfaction with our breast pumps. Unfortunately, we do not accept returns on pumps that have been used. However, we are committed to assisting you with troubleshooting to resolve any issues you're experiencing.

If you encounter discomfort or ineffective output, this could be related to the flange size. Check that your nipple is centered during pumping, use the massage function before expressing, start at a low intensity level, and only increase to a comfortable level. Additionally, applying a small amount of nipple balm before pumping may also help with your comfort.

In the unlikely event that the device fails, it would fall under our Warranty, and we would either offer a free repair or a replacement, as stipulated on our website.

If you have NOT been successful in using your Ella we would love to go through some troubleshooting with you so that we can help determine what is going wrong. Please email us [email protected]

If you have been successfully previously using your Ella and feel you have had a loss of suction, it may be time to replace your parts. The part which requires replacing most frequently is the valve. Note, a spare valve is provided in your box so if you haven't already used this please try changing your valve.

If your pump isn't creating suction, we recommend you email us a video [email protected] to help diagnose the issue. Please send us a video following these steps:

  1. Attach the diaphragm only to the motor.
  2. Set the pump to express mode at level 12.
  3. Ensure the diaphragm is pushed all the way onto the motor with no gaps.

This will allow us to assess the suction and listen to the motor´s performance. The video is a crucial step for us to be able to assist you effectively.

Depending on how frequently you use your pump, silicone parts need to be charged fairly regularly.  On average you should change the Valve every 3 months. The diaphragm, milk catcher flange & Flange Inserts every 4-6 months. This is due to wear and tear/deterioration of the materials.

The lights on your pump motor indicate different modes of operation. If your pump motor shows a purple light, it means that the motor is set up to work with two pumps simultaneously. This mode was designed to allow 1 motor to operate 2 pumps, but please note, it requires cords and wires which makes it not handsfree. In this mode, the suction is much stronger because the motor needs to pump more. To switch between the white light mode and the purple light mode, you need to press and hold the plus button for the purple light mode or the minus button for the white light mode. If you notice that your pump is not performing as expected, or if the light has changed from your usual setting, try long pressing the relevant button to switch to the desired mode. This action can help reset the motor to the correct mode for your needs.

If you have NOT been successful in using your Pro we would love to go through some troubleshooting with you so that we can help determine what is going wrong. Please email us [email protected]

If you have been successfully previously using your Pro and feel or can hear a difference in the suction sound, please check the lights on top of the motor. If they are purple, please do a long press of the minus button to change back to white light mode. If this does not help or the lights are already white it may be time to replace your parts. The part which requires replacing most frequently is the valve. Note, a spare valve is provided in your box so if you haven't already used this please try changing your valve.

You can check the suction of your motor following these steps:

1. Set the motor to express mode level 12

2. Press the motor (no parts attached) to the palm of your hand - can you feel the suction?

If the suction feels strong, this indicates the motor is working and suggests you have a part/s that require replacing.

If you cannot feel any suction, or the suction feels weak, please complete the following warranty form https://www.mumilk.com.au/pages/troubleshooting-warranty-form
